HalfBlood Ilyon Chronicles #05 eBook Jaye L Knight

A deep and realistic portrait of an enigmatic character that leaves enough qiestion unanswered to keep us reading. Faced with bigotry, slavery and abandonment Jace is a portrait of a young man whos struggles make him someone we identify with rather than those struggles separating him from us! This is a wonderful character profile without giving away all the secrets. After reading this I went back and read the Ilyon Chronicles again with this knowledge in place and it deepend the story.
The only down side to this is that it will leave you wanting more of this character who steals your heart and with whom you battle along side in a walk with faith that is never as simple as the lines we try to draw.

HalfBlood Ilyon Chronicles #05 eBook Jaye L Knight Reviews

This book is just amazing on every aspect. Jace is by far my favorite character in this series so I was thrilled to learn there was a novella about him. It was heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time and it made respect Jaye L. Knight all the more.
I would recommend this book to ages twelve and up.
There is violence but not too descriptive.
Joy comes in the morning. The first book of the series I've read. Very promising. Characters slowly and fully crafted. I'm fully committed to the story. I love stories about the goodness of my Lord on us underserving but needing a fresh start humans. We all need forgiven and a clean canvas for him to write upon.
I really enjoyed this book. I haven’t started the series yet so this gave a good beginning to the books ahead. Can’t wait to see what happens next since this book had me wanting more!
This should be considered a prequel, of sorts, to Resistance. Its great to read about Jade's back story.
I would be interested in knowing more of Rayad's story, as well as more about Kalli and Aldor.
I've really fallen in love with this series, as have two of my children!
This was an interesting read, as well as my first introduction to the Ilyon Chronicles. It's a great story of hope, and Knight writes in a fluent and fast-paced manner that is a pleasure to read. My one criticism is that you need a fair amount of suspension of disbelief for the story, as the main character is surrounded by nothing but cruelty from infancy with never a kind word from anyone and still has an innate sense of right and wrong. Impossible? Maybe not, but it was not the most believable thing I've ever read. Still, it was otherwise a good story, and I would like to read more of what the author has written.
Like every other fan of The Ilyon Chronicles, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this prequel novella. While this was not in any way an upbeat story, I still liked getting to see bits of Jace's past. Knowing what his character has been through makes me appreciate just how far he's come in the series and bump him higher up in the favorites column. I just wish it would have been a tad longer so we could see more of Jace with Kalli, Aldor, and Rayad.

Recommended for any fan of the Ilyon Chronicles of course!
Oh my goodness! This was a great book! You don't really need it, as it is just backstory (some of which is went over in book one), but it is really cool to get some of Jace's childhood from his perspective. I will say, it is really heart-breaking. If you don't like sad books... but than, this is the first sad book I ever liked. You can also read this book first in the series.
